Assignment #4

Task 1: I am sorry but I was not in class the day we read these Shortstory, so I have no idea what the story was about and can not answer the questions.

Task 2: A great short story should have:

- a good first sentence, so that you really want to read the story
- not to many characters, everybody should be important
- the story should have an impact on the reader
- a character you can identify with
- a happy end
- a surprising end
- lenght should be not to long but also not to short
- teen stories
- true stories like a diary or something

i dissagree with the happy end. dont get me wrong, i love happy endings in real life, but in stories they are really hard to pull off with out getting cheesy. I love cheese- to eat. but thats it.
i also disagree that it has to be about teenagers or that it has to be true. stories about children and adults can be extremely well crafted and engaing. You might start a story based on something real, but to limit yourself to that is unnecessary and crippling to your creative potential as a writer.
i totally agree with every thing else tho.
